Description:

The project develops a planning tool to support cities in creating and developing zones for urban freight rail services. The outcomes will be developed and validated with local urban freight rail development projects realized by participating cities and regions.

The planning tool includes two main components:

  • screening tool,
  • urban freight rail development tool.

The implementation of the project will help to identify:

  • key challenges and success factors related to the development of urban freight rail zones,
  • key process steps and stakeholders,
  • relevant business concepts for urban rail freight transport.
