Safety Engineering and Ecology of Transport
Students of the Safety Engineering and Ecology of Transport specialisation develop their knowledge in the field of: infrastructure of transport and technical means of transport and their diagnostics, introduction to safety engineering, intelligent transport systems and vehicles, environmental protection and impact of means of transport on the environment, transport law, materials and recycling, simulations of technical systems, computer-aided design and maintenance, introduction to specialised transport and transport of the disabled.
Graduates of the specialisation have the skills to design and use diagnostic and monitoring systems of the technical conditions of maintenance of means and infrastructure of transport, and impact of the transport process on the environment, to organise and conduct research in the field of evaluation of technical safety of the designed and used facilities in transport systems, to design and maintain friendly means and elements of transport infrastructure, as well as to design and maintain intelligent transport systems.
The graduates may use their qualifications by finding employment in:
- standardising and certifying units in the field of transport,
- transport companies and technical service stations,
- public government and local government administration units which deal with planning, organisation and safety and ecology of transport,
- study and design offices,
- research centres.
The skills acquired can be used in road, railway, and air transport.
